Riding Motorcycles in the City

People are attracted to motorcycle riding because of the freedom of feeling the wind around them and not being encumbered by the surrounding metal of a car.  However, when riding a motorcycle in the city and on crowded freeways, the open road gives way to traffic congestion and dangerous situations.  Motorcycles are obviously smaller than cars and trucks and often those drivers do not pay as close attention as they should to the road and don’t see the upcoming motorcycle.  Injuries in accidents involving motorcycles are more serious and often fatal even if the rider is wearing a helmet.  When involved in an accident with your motorcycle you should seek out the advice of a Los Angeles Motorcycle Attorney as soon as possible.

Motorcycle drivers too can be at fault for accidents if they drive carelessly and try to weave in and out of traffic.  They should also be very careful when entering intersections as it is easier for them to see larger vehicles than it is for those drivers to see them.  However, many larger vehicles ignore the fact that motorcycles are likely to be on the road and trucks especially have many blind spots in their visual field and aren’t always as cautious as they should be.  When a truck and a motorcycle have an accident, the motorcycle driver is most likely to be killed or severely injured.

Of course it is best to ride your motorcycle cautiously around other vehicles and save any tricks for the open road.  If you are involved in an accident and are able to, get as much information as possible about the driver of the other vehicle and any witnesses to the accident.  Always get a copy of the police report when it is available. You or a family member should contact a Los Angeles Motorcycle Lawyer as soon as possible to discuss your injuries and the facts of the accident.  Attorney Robert A. Brenner has the experience in these types of accident to work with you and advise you as to what compensation you and your family might be able to receive.  Please call 800-669-7700 and schedule a visit.
